Guild Roles, a.k.a. guild ranks as we all know them, are abstract concepts to effectively manage different membership layers and progression roadmaps in a guild. In GuildPlanner.Pro (“WebSite”), we have expanded the capabilities of Guild Roles in order to offer guild leaders unique toolset to make their day-to-day managerial works more effective and enjoyable.
Ingame Guild Roles, as the name implies, exist in-game. They are imported via Data-Import process (using Web- or UI-APIs the supported games provide).
On the other hand, there are so called Custom Guild Roles created on WebSite, solely existing there. These roles help to manage guilds’ members effectively, through various means and mechanics.
Guild Roles can be managed on guild administration page, by clicking related Configure button:
When a guild is just recently imported, you - as a guild leader - will find all Ingame Guild Roles listed there. If applicable, you should be assigning dedicated Discord roles to your Ingame ranks. If enabled, Participant Guild Role will also be visible in the list:
Feel free to rename your Participant Guild Role here.
Ingame Guild Roles cannot be renamed or deleted. If applicable, they can only be assigned a
VIP
role type (read on Guild Role Types below).
Your lowest Ingame Guild Role is considered of
Members
type. It is required you assign a dedicated Discord role to this guild role, in order to be able to distinguish your actual members from Participants (especially on your Discord server).
To create additional Guild Roles, press Create Role button on top right corner of the modal window.
You can create new Guild Roles only if you have finished configuring previously created roles. Generally, red background color is an indication of an unconfigured Guild Role.
Be careful when it comes to deleting a Guild Role: it will be revoked from the members having it. As a result, these members will lose related Discord Roles as well.
Read on Guild Role Types below to understand what other types of Guild Roles you can configure.
To enhance traditional Guild Roles concept, we have introduced so called Guild Role Types (Types in short).
Following table will attempt to describe their meaning and purpose with the areas of applicability:

In below screenshot, you can see an example to 5-tier Guild Roles defined in a guild. Members in this guild progress from Tier-1 (“Neophyte” rank) all the way to Tier-5 (“Dominus Liminis” rank).
